Head of Climate Science (m/f/d) for well-funded ClimateTech Start-Up

Do you want to join a motivated remote team which is developing a completely new, digital carbon asset class? Our client is revolutionizing the voluntary carbon market by creating carbon shares, a new asset class that transparently presents the actual value of a carbon project, fighting greenwashing in the carbon industry.

By creating a dynamic asset for carbon measurement, our client offers a viable measurement option for carbon projects. Compared to static carbon credits, this asset brings more transparency to the voluntary carbon market.

Currently a remote team of 10, they have already raised 2.8mio Euro in their first funding round. Within the next 12 months, their goal is to develop this new carbon asset type and introduce carbon shares to the VCM.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Climate Team (currently 2 employees) technically and disciplinary
• With your team, drive the development of the new framework for climate shares
• Validate Product Market Fit for carbon shares with external stakeholders
• Manage the development of new nature based projects around the globe (mainly forestation)

Your Profile

Must haves

• Extensive experience in the voluntary carbon market
• Expertise in certification standards like Verra, Gold Standard or FSC
• Start-Up Mindset
• Fluent in English

• Experience in Project Management
• Background in Forestry
• Remote Sensing/GIS Skills
• Spanish Skills
